Human Resource Department Holds A Workshop For Senior Members On Quality Assurance

The Human Resource Development (HRD) has organised a three-day workshop on Quality Assurance, Research Methods, Academics, Report & Grant Writing Skills for all senior members of the University.   The three-day workshop was held at the Great Hall from 10th to 12th October 2022.

The Vice-Chancellor, Ing. Prof. Osei Wusu-Achaw, explaining the purpose of the workshop said, there was the need to provide participants with a firm grounding on what they were doing since without a firm grasp of the task, they could not perform well. The Vice-Chancellor added, that  some of the Departments had challenges with quality assurance and therefore, the training programme would help them to generate standard reports for their superiors. He also noted that the workshop would serve as capacity building to enhance the knowledge all the participants.

Ing. Prof. Osei Wusu-Achaw noted that the importance of quality assurance in higher institutions has come to the fore in both local and global contexts especially, with the coming in force of internationalization and mobility of higher education clients.

The resource person, Dr. Violet Makuku, took participants through a highly interactive session on report writing skills, research methods, and academic report writing.

Dr. Makuku grouped participants to share ideas on writing grants and winning proposals. She stressed the need for KsTU to think globally and develop a strong student and value proposition that differentiates the University from its competitors.

The presentations were followed by a discussion of key issues that emerged  and a question-and-answer session. It is expected that the outcome of the training workshop will lead to the generation of ideas and key inputs to shape the conduct of the future of the University.
