KsTU Holds Special Congregation For Distance And Continuing Students

Kumasi Technical University has held its 6th Special Congregation on Monday 3rd June, 2019 for the students from the Institute of Distance Learning and Continuing Education (IDCE). The Special Congregation was to graduate the non-tertiary students who through a dint of hard work had successfully completed their various programmes of study.

The Ceremony recognized and celebrated the achievements of 269 graduands who were issued with Ordinary Diplomas, Technician Certificates, Advanced Certificates and other certificates awarded by Kumasi Technical University (KsTU). The certificates of Technical Examination Unit (TEU) and those of National Board for Professional and Technicians Examination (NABPTEX) were also issued.

In his brief but insightful speech, the Interim Vice Chancellor of KsTU Prof. Mike A. Acheampong indicated that the graduands who enrolled on Technician programmes and were graduating would have the opportunity to further their education by enrolling on the Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes if they were so interested. He further stated that the Technician programmes also offer the platform for persons without any certificate but are already in employment to better themselves for the future.

He therefore urged the graduands to use their newly acquired skills to affect lives positively in the world of work and should also exhibit good behaviour as they have become the representatives of the University. In his own words, the Interim Vice Chancellor stressed that “every act of yours will have impact on the image of the University”. He advised the graduands to go out there and cause a paradigm shift so as to change the status quo.

Also present at the ceremony were the Acting Registrar Mr. Abraham Annan Adjei, other  Key Officers, Deans, Directors, Heads of Department as well as parents and relatives of the graduands.
