Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) Sponsors Eight Additional Staff to Pursue PhD Degrees in China

Kumasi Technical University (formerly Kumasi Polytechnic) has sponsored eight of its academic staff members to study various PhD programmes in China. In order to sharpen the academic competence of faculty members for effective delivery, the Institution has made it an integral part of its staff development programme to sponsor academic members of staff who wish to pursue their PhD and other postgraduate programmes.

These are Messrs Kwame Sarfo (Electrical and Electronics Department), Samuel Afriyie (Marketing Department), Emmanuel Boachie (Computer Science Department), Benjamin Adjei Danquah (Liberal Studies Department), George Ohene-Djan (Department of Accountancy and Accounting Information Systems), Kingsley Appiah (Department of Accountancy and Accounting Information Systems), Ishmeal Ayim (Hotel Catering and Institutional Management) as well as Maurice Aduamoah (Department of Accountancy and Accounting Information Systems).

Five of these academic staff went to Wuhan University of Technology while three others were enrolled in Jiangsu University. Their various programmes relate to their individual fields of teaching. It is expected that by September 2019, all of them would have completed their programmes and have returned to the University .

In a related development, the University has also supported a lecturer (Mr. Christopher Opata Narh) from Management Studies Department to pursue a Doctorate programme in the University of Electronic and Technology of China (UESTC).
