Kumasi Technical University Signs an MOU to Commence the Building of a New Faculty of Engineering Block at Its Kuntenanse Campus

As part of the efforts to develop its Kuntenanse campus, Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to construct an ultramodern structure at Kuntenanse for its Faculty of Engineering and Technology.

As a means of supporting the entire project, the Ministry of Education is arranging with Shapoorji Pallonji Engineering and Construction Limited, an Indian construction company of high repute to construct the state-of-the-art faculty block with other facilities. This is to enable KsTU to facilitate its intention of relocating her Faculty of Engineering and Technology to the Kuntenanse campus.  To ensure effective completion of the facility, the company will join the Technical Team of KsTU for a three-day meeting to thrash out some pertinent issues such as the design of the facility and also look at the total cost of the project as well as phasing of the project.

The signing of the said MoU took place at the Ministry of Education Conference Room on Thursday 12th August, 2021 to enable Shapoorji Pallonji secure funding and financiers for the project. The company was represented by three Indians led by S.K Singh the Regional General Manager of the company. The Vice-Chancellor, Registrar and the Director of Works and Physical Development also represented KsTU during the signing.

Apart from the faculty block, the ultramodern edifice will additionally have staff residence, well equipped workshops and laboratories, a hospital, a fully-built Senior High School, and a commercial area. The project will as well have lecture rooms, offices, hostel facilities for students including conference halls.
