New Vice-Chancellor Inducted Into Office At Kumasi Technical University (KsTU)

An investiture has been organised to induct into office the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor Ing. Prof. Nana Osei-Wusu Achaw at the Kumasi Technical University (KsTU). He thus, becomes the first substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University after its conversion from polytechnic to technical university. The Chemical Engineer has had 24 years of continuous service of lecturing in the University.

Kumasi Technical University Holds 15th Congregation

The 15th Congregation of Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) was held on Saturday at the New Great Hall of the University with 2,653 people graduating. This comprised students who completed their various programmes of study in the 2018/2019 academic year. Out of the 2,653 graduands, 890 were females while 1,775 of them were males. The graduands received certificates in Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Higher National Diploma (HND), Professional and other Diplomas.

Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) has been accredited to train and sharpen the skills of artisans who might be masters already or under apprenticeship. This will eventually formalize the operations of these artisans under the programme dubbed Ghana TVET Voucher Project (GTVP), Phase II. This project is being implemented by Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (COTVET).

Kumasi Technical University’s Alumnus Receives Eni Africa Prize

An alumnus of Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) Master Emmanuel Kweinor Tetteh has received the ENI Africa prize. Emmanuel K. Tetteh was a student at the Chemical Engineering Department of KsTU between 2008 and 2011. He pursued Higher National Diploma in Chemical Engineering. Emmanuel was presented with the award by the President of Italy, Sergio Mattarella, at a ceremony in Rome, Italy. Tetteh was one of the eight recipients of the award this year.

Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) has unveiled a new traditional cloth as the official wear for the University on Monday, 11th November, 2019 at the Great Hall of the University. The blue-black, yellow orca and red-orange newly created cloth was unveiled amidst pump and pageantry with the Modeling Team from the Faculty of Creative Arts and Technology (FCAT) spicing up the event with their splendid catwalk.

Kumasi Technical University to train more female Engineers

Ghana’s industrial development has good prospects for transformation as more women opt for the study of Engineering.

That is the optimistic Vice-Chancellor of Kumasi Technical University, Professor Osei-Wusu Achaw, speaking on the sidelines of the school’s 27th matriculation.

He said the university and the nation have much to gain by encouraging females to pursue courses in engineering.

Out of 4,561 students admitted this academic year, 1,839, representing 30 per cent are women.

At exactly 9:00am, Kumasi Technical University’s Sports Complex which was the venue for the Matriculation Ceremony was filled to its capacity as the fresh students and the University’s officials were seated for the occasion to begin.
