Ing.Araba Amo-Aidoo has received the distinguished women In Engineering Excellence Awards at the just ended Ghana Institution of Engineers Awards at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. She is a distinguished female Engineer, President of women in Engineering (Ashanti Region) and a staff of Kumasi Technical University (KsTU). She has contributed immensely to helping students from some public and private basic schools within the Kumasi metropolis and Ashanti Region as a whole.

Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) which was formerly known as Kumasi Polytechnic has held its maiden Matriculation Ceremony for the 2016/2017 Academic year at the Volley Ball Court of the University on Tuesday, 15th November, 2016. KsTU has actually gone through a process of evolution.  This is to say that despite the fact that this year’s matriculation was seen as the first in the life of the “ new”  Technical University, the Institution  itself was established in 1954 as Kumasi Technical Institute to offer craft courses.

Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) in collaboration with Rural Enterprises Programme (REP) has organized a training programme for 160 Hairdressers and Dressmakers/Tailors in Asokore-Mampong and Ejisu-Juaben Municipalities. The four- week programme which was attended by four groups from the two municipalities in turns was opened on 14th November, 2016 at the New Great Hall of KsTU.

In order to sharpen the academic competence of faculty members for effective delivery, the Institution has made it an integral part of its staff development programme to sponsor academic members of staff who wish to pursue their PhD and other postgraduate programmes.
